Children’s Mental Health Conference Series: “Anxiety in Youth”
October 25, 2024 9:00 AM
Courtyard Long Island MacArthur Airport
Anxiety disorders are now recognized as the most common emotional problem in the majority of countries surveyed by the World Health Organization, including the United States. The increasing rate of stress and trauma in children, which includes violence in society, social media, divorce, family breakdown, and a failing school system, has produced a "shell shocked" generation suffering from anxiety in many cases. The challenge for clinicians and behavioral health professionals is to recognize anxiety in children and help them cope. Presenters: Dr. Paul Foxman, recognized as an authority on the topic of anxiety and stress, and Janine Halloran, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been working with children, teens, and their families for over 20 years.
