At this time, Association for Mental Health and Wellness is seeking a Psychiatrist or Medical Doctor for our New York State-licensed Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services (PROS), Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment (CORE) and Intensive and Sustained Engagement Teams (INSET) programs:

Hours: Approximately 4-6 hours month
Position Description:
Provide clinical consultation and collaboration to MHAW’s multidisciplinary clinical staff, as needed and regular bi-weekly consultation to the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner staff
Tasks:
Clinical consultation will focus on discussion of resolution of complex cases, review and development of protocols, medication management, psychiatric and medical assessments, symptom monitoring and education, and crisis intervention/assessment skills
Active participation in MHAW’s internal incident Review Committee process to support the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of clinical risk protocols, risk management, quality improvement, and incident prevention
Provide coverage for planned and emergency absences of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner(s)
Participation in planning and strategy; including meetings with funders and the Board of Directors as needed
Commitment to working with people whose lives have been affected by psychiatric disabilities and co-occurring disorders. Candidates should be Board Certified in Psychiatry. Candidates should also have a current DEA number, an active Medicare provider ID number, a Medicaid ID number and a National Provider Identification (NPI) number. Strong computer skills/aptitude, as the agency uses an electronic medical record system for all charting and documentation purposes. Candidate must upon appointment have appropriate liability, worker’s compensation NYS Disability Insurance.
