Social Care Manager and Trainer

Social Care Manager and Trainer

Salary: $50,000 to $52,000 per year (based on experience and credentials)

Hours: 37.5 hours/week; Full-Time; Grant funded position

Location: Ronkonkoma, NY and travel throughout Suffolk County

Availability: Immediate

Qualifications:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a human service/health discipline and five years’ experience delivering direct care is preferred. Candidates with Master’s degrees are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience and training facilitation.
  • Those with Bi-lingual skills and personal experience are strongly encouraged to apply; we strive to achieve a diverse workforce, representative of the communities we serve.
  • Excellent inter-personal communication including the ability to establish empathic, empowering relationships with people who have experienced psychiatric, substance abuse challenges, trauma as well as chronic physical health conditions;
  • Strong communication skills and collaboration skills;
  • Understanding of the key elements of recovery and wellness
  • Sound organizational skills including computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of the public health/mental health system, public entitlement and social service programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with people of different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to complete required trainings and additional certifications or trainings as assigned
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day functions
  • Candidate must be a reliable self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
