PROS Peer Specialist

Salary: $40,000 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours/week; Full-Time; non-exempt

Location: Ronkonkoma, NY

Availability: Immediate

We are seeking a PROS Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery and wellness counseling to individuals effected by mental illness through the use of both individual and group services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate 9-12 psychoeducational groups per week
  • Provide individual supportive counseling as needed
  • Advocate for Client Needs
  • Complete documentation on services delivered
  • Attend/Participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Attend/Participate in staff trainings

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Lived Experience with mental health and mental health systems
  • Significant Progress in personal recovery
  • Excellent Interpersonal communication
  • Ability to establish empathic, empowering relationship with people who have experiences psychiatric disabilities and trauma
  • Strong Communication Skills and ability to work as a team
  • Basic efficiency with computers including email, Microsoft word, and EHR

Education and Experience:

  • Peer Specialist Trained
  • New York Peer Specialist Certification
