SUMMARY:Understanding Complex Trauma in Children and Its Impact on Their Caregivers
DESCRIPTION:When working with youth who have been impacted by trauma\, the caregiving context is a critical component of intervention. Many caregivers are parenting in a stressful context that may include past adversity as well as current ongoing stressors. This workshop focuses on the impact of stress and adversity on parent-child attachment and specific strategies for supporting caregiver regulation. Presenter: Kristine Kinniburgh\, LCSW\, is a licensed clinical social worker with a specialty in the field of traumatic stress. \n
