SUMMARY:Understanding Childhood Trauma and the Core Concepts of Childhood Trauma
DESCRIPTION:Participants will learn about the impact of childhood trauma through a dynamic\, interactive problem-based learning approach that will include group discussions led by the instructors. The Core Curriculum on Childhood Trauma was developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (www.nctsn.org) and helps providers conceptualize the children they care for in a complex\, trauma informed manner. Presented by Mayer Bellehsen\, PhD\, Director of the Health Feinberg Division of the Unified Behavioral Health Center for Military Veterans and their Families through Northwell Health\, and George Wurzer\, LCSW\, a licensed clinical social worker since 1994 who served as the Director of Children’s Services with the Mental Health Association of Nassau County for 28 years. \n
