SUMMARY:Treating Adolescent Non-Suicidal Self-Injury: Psychosocial Interventions to Guide Clinical Practice
DESCRIPTION:Non-suicidal self-injurious (NSSI) behavior affects millions of adolescents each year\, highlighting a public health problem in need of attention\, research\, and treatment. NSSI — the intentional destruction of one’s own body without the intent to die — is growing among adolescents.  It is highly likely that mental health providers will see an increase in adolescents presenting with this behavior highlighting the urgent need for research and education on how to effectively treat NSSI. \n
