Position Description:
The Pantry Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the food pantries and ensuring efficient, client-centered service delivery. This role supports the agency’s wellness and growth initiatives through community engagement, donor interaction, event coordination, and outreach efforts. The position also involves contributing to logistical planning, maintaining inventory systems, and supporting volunteer and staff coordination.
General Responsibilities:
- Provides coordination and resource allocation for 3 food pantries and community soup kitchen (coordinating volunteer and staff coverage, ordering and stocking shelves, tracking and reporting);
- Data entry and reporting, as required by funders;
- Keep work area and facilities organized, clean and safe
- Providing logistical support to the agency’s special events and regular community events;
- Developing relationships with external stakeholders to support the pantry and soup kitchen through volunteers and donations
- Create a positive environment, that is welcoming for recipients of services and volunteers
- Represent, or facilitate representation of the organization in response to requests for speakers and at community networking events;
- Assist with administrative tasks and responsibilities
- Act in a manner that exemplifies professional leadership with positive morale, role modeling, and judgment in the promotion of an empowering, person-centered program culture;
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once
- Candidates with enthusiasm for mental wellness and Veterans services are encouraged to apply, including those with lived experience
- Superior ability to perform independently with meticulous attention to accuracy/detail, including excellent proofreading skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; must be comfortable speaking and interacting with MHAW members, staff, donors, and the public
- Must have (or obtain within 30 days of appointment) and maintain a Suffolk County Food Manager’s Certificate
- Proven track record of successful prospect research
- Experience Community presentations and engagement
