Position:                                              Fee for Service Mental Health Rehabilitation Practitioner

Service Unit Compensation:           $30.00 per service unit, or $32.00 per service unit for Bilingual (non-exempt)

Training Compensation:                  $25.00 per hour for all required training (non-exempt)

Hours:                                                  Up to 20 hours per week

Position Description:

The Association for Mental Health and Wellness is seeking a Fee for Service Mental Health Rehabilitation Practitioner to join our Ronkonkoma PROS team.  This position will establish helping relationships with people who have psychiatric and co-occurring substance abuse disabilities.  The primary role of the practitioner is to assist individuals to connect with and utilize formal and natural resources critical to attaining and maintaining productive, healthy, and satisfying lifestyles. Key activities include facilitating psychoeducational groups, individual services as needed and work with a team of multidisciplinary colleagues within an OMH licensed PROS program. The Fee for Service Mental Health Rehabilitation Practitioner total compensation per service unit includes required administrative tasks and the anticipated time to complete the services.

 

The successful candidate should possess or be quickly able to acquire the following skills and abilities:

• Persons with bi-lingual skills and personal experience are highly encouraged to apply.
• Excellent inter-personal communication including the ability to establish empathic, empowering relationships with people who have experienced psychiatric and co-occurring disabilities and trauma
• Sound communication and organizational skills
• Strong computer skills as an electronic record and e-health information exchange is used daily
• Basic knowledge of the public health/behavioral health system, public entitlements, and psychiatric recovery needed.
• Applicants with personal, lived recovery experience are encouraged to apply.
• Have facilitated groups of 5 or more individuals
• Knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioral practice is a plus
• Knowledge/interest in Dual Diagnosis recovery a plus
