In this didactic and experiential workshop, yoga will be defined, as well as how it relates to mental health and overall wellness. Research and evidence-based models will be presented to show effectiveness of these modalities when treating people with trauma, mental health concerns and those in recovery. Breath work practices, basic standing and sitting poses, and sound will be demonstrated, with an opportunity for attendees to participate. Self-care and the benefits of these modalities for both client and clinician will be discussed. Presenter: Raena Pastore, LMSW, a licensed social worker and registered yoga teacher.
