8th Annual Chili Cook-Off and Fall Festival

Our annual Chili Cook-Off is a day where Long Islanders can enjoy the most diverse, delicious, and creative meat and vegan chili dishes from local food establishments, area businesses, and local talent. Prizes will be given in several categories including a “People’s Choice” award. All proceeds benefit people impacted by mental illness including at-risk and homeless Veterans.

Introduction to Emotionally Focused Therapy

3.5 Continuing Education Hours |LMSW/LCSW/LMHC/LCAT/LMFT. This three hour workshop, led by Mayer Bellehsen, Ph.D. and Aviva Lauren Rizel, MA, LMFT, will introduce the participants to Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT). EFT is an evidence based treatment for working with couples in distress that is highly adaptable to different contexts.

11th Annual Suicide Prevention Coalition of Long Island Symposium

Dr. Christine Moutier will help us make sense of the current body of data regarding risk of suicide among our youth and young adults, the rise in the rate of teen and young adult death due to suicide, and specifically, how we can use what is known about the impact of social media in our work to identify, address, and reduce risk.
