Hours: Monday to Friday 15 hours per week

Position:                                    Registered Nurse (RN), part-time

Salary:                                     Hourly rate $40-50; Contracted 1099 position;

Hours:                                     Monday – Friday; 15 hours/week

Position Description:

MHAW is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a team of Medical, Behavioral Health and Peer providers at the Pollack and Synergy Centers for Health and Recovery in the provision of highly integrated rehabilitation, treatment, and support services.  The RN will work within the Clinic component of each respective PROS program, coordinating and report to the supervision and assignment of high impact interventions and service provision.


Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Health assessments and screening for cardiometabolic syndrome, diabetes, and hypertension as indicated.
  • Symptom Monitoring, Clinical Counseling and intensive targeted interventions including but not limited to tobacco dependence cessation, diabetes management and integrated dual disorder treatment.
  • Facilitate and support ongoing connection to physical health and specialty care to manage co-occurring medical conditions to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.
  • Wellness education and health promotion for the purpose of assisting individuals to overcome the barriers caused by their mental illness that are preventing them from obtaining and sustaining chosen life roles.
  • RN will work to reduce health gaps and disparities caused by environmental, physical, and social determinants of health by developing health care plans, providing nursing services, and referring patients with social and emotional needs to other community resources.
  • Passion for Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Nursing
  • 1+ Years of RN experience working in Psychiatry/Behavioral Health/Mental Health preferred
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred; Associates Degree in Nursing acceptable
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration in good standing
  • Previous mental health/substance abuse experience preferred
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Exceptional documentation skills and demonstrated proficiency in use of an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Understanding and Commitment to Compliance in required organization and program protocols, regulations (local, state, federal) and education requirements
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
