Position: Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator

Compensation: $46,000-$50,000 per year, plus competitive benefits packages

Hours: 37.5 hours/week; daytimes; potential for nights/weekend; on-call

Location: Suffolk County

Start Date: Immediate

The Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all building repairs and maintenance and for performing routine building maintenance and repair tasks.

General Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite inspections of all facilities on a regular basis to determine the need and extent of service required and prioritize scheduling of work orders
• Assess and troubleshoot issues according to work orders to determine necessary repairs, approx. job time, or if an outside vendor is needed to solve the issue
• Performs general facility repairs within their skills set. Examples may include: repairing drywall, painting, installing shelving, and repairing doors and other building fixtures
• Schedule, oversee, and inspect the quality of services performed by outside vendor
• Performs routine/preventative maintenance to ensure proper upkeep of the facilities
• Ensures appropriate level of supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance

• Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas
• Maintain regular maintenance, upkeep, and cleanliness of the assigned company vehicle
• Perform routine safety inspections for the Supported Housing Program
• Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them

• Communicate effectively with program staff, supervisors, and people served/tenants
• Transport furniture, supplies, etc. to other facilities as needed
• Support dignified housing and services for the people served through our programs
• Perform basic mechanic work on agency vehicles. Examples may include: changing or plugging tires, replace or jump battery, replacing wiper blades and light bulbs
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged periods standing and walking
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
• Maintain valid driver’s license with no violations
• Basic computer skills, ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook as main source of communication and daily scheduling
• Working knowledge of general facility equipment and operations
• Planning , organizing, and attention to detail
• Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills
• Sound oral and written communication skills
